Privacy Policy

Who we are. Cliffego ("Cliffego," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website at cliffego.com. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why, and what choices you have. It does not cover information you might separately give us under a signed client agreement, statement of work, or proposal — those are governed by that agreement.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Cliffego, operated by Tej Joshi, with registered/correspondence address at Velani Heights, near Jupiter Hospital, Atladara, Vadodara, Gujarat, India 390012 ("Cliffego," "we," "us"). For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us via email at tjoshi@cliffego.com or by phone at +91 8401907776.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

(a) Information you submit through our contact form. When you fill out the form on our Contact page, we ask for: your name, business/organization (optional), email address, project type, your current website URL (optional), a description of what you're trying to achieve, and your budget range and timeline (optional). Fields marked required must be completed for the form to submit; all other fields are optional. You must also tick a consent box before the form can be submitted; that tick is checked in your browser and is not recorded with your inquiry.

(b) Information saved automatically in your own browser. While you're filling out the contact form, we automatically save your in-progress answers to your browser's local storage (not to our servers) so you don't lose your work if you navigate away. This draft is stored only on your device, is kept for up to 7 days, and is deleted automatically once that window passes or immediately once you successfully submit the form. We also remember a currency preference (see §4) the same way. We do not use tracking cookies of any kind — see our Cookies & Local Storage Policy for full detail.

(c) Technical information sent to third parties as part of loading the page. Loading our webfonts (via Google Fonts) involves your browser sending a request — including your IP address — to Google as a normal part of how the request works. We do not use any third-party service to work out your location or currency (see §4).

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

We use contact-form information to respond to your inquiry, evaluate whether we're a good fit for your project, and follow up with you about it. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.

Where privacy law requires us to state a legal basis (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on: your consent, given by ticking the consent box and voluntarily submitting the form; and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries that you have proactively sent us. The draft-recovery and currency-preference storage described in §2(b) relies on the functionality being something you have effectively requested by using the form — you can clear it at any time (§8).

4. Automatic currency selection

To show budget ranges in a currency likely to be relevant to you, the Contact page works this out on your own device, in this order: (1) a currency you've manually selected before (remembered in your browser only); (2) your browser's timezone setting; (3) your browser's language and region setting; (4) otherwise, US Dollars by default.

This happens entirely in your browser: no request is made and no location or IP-based lookup is performed, and nothing about it is sent to us or to anyone else. You can change the currency at any time using the "Change" link beneath the Budget field; your choice is then remembered in your browser only.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

How contact-form submissions are handled: when you submit the form, your browser sends the details to a small serverless function running on our hosting provider, Cloudflare. It checks the submission, applies anti-spam rate limiting (using your IP address, held for about 10 minutes), saves the details as a new row in a private Google Sheet that serves as our lead log, and sends us a notification email through our transactional email provider, Resend. We do not use a separate database, CRM, or any other system to store leads. If sending fails, the page tells you so and asks you to email or call us directly instead.

We use Google Fonts (Google) to load webfonts on every page, which involves your browser making a request to Google's servers.

6. International transfers

Some of the third-party services referenced above (including Google, Google Sheets, and Resend) may process information outside India/your country of location. Where applicable law requires additional safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the mechanisms those providers make available (such as standard contractual clauses) or applicable statutory exceptions.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not set cookies of any kind. It does use your browser's local storage for the two purposes described in §2(b) and §4. Full detail, including how to clear this data, is in our Cookies & Local Storage Policy.

8. Data retention

Information saved to your own browser (§2(b)) is deleted automatically after 7 days, or immediately on successful submission, or at any time you clear your browser's site data for cliffego.com.

For inquiries that reach us (by email, phone, or through the contact form), we keep your information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry and, if we begin working together, for the duration of that relationship and any period afterward required for our legitimate business, accounting, or legal record-keeping needs.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. This includes rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU/UK GDPR, and other applicable regional laws.

To exercise any of these rights, email tjoshi@cliffego.com or call +91 8401907776. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. If you believe we haven't adequately addressed your concern, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (such as the Data Protection Board of India).

10. Data security

We rely on the security practices of our hosting and infrastructure providers (currently Cloudflare, Google Sheets, Resend, and Google Fonts for webfonts) and take reasonable steps appropriate to a website of this size. We do not claim any specific security certification, and no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Children's privacy

This website is intended for businesses and individuals seeking commercial web-development services and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, tools, or legal obligations change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes affecting how previously collected data is used will be communicated by updating this page; where required by law, we will seek additional consent.

13. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction subject to the courts of Vadodara, Gujarat, India, without prejudice to any mandatory data-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

14. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent via email to tjoshi@cliffego.com, by phone at +91 8401907776, or through our Contact page inquiry form.
